Coheed And Cambria

Coheed and Cambria lo forman originariamente cuatro miembros: Claudio Sánchez (como cantante y guitarra), Travis Stever (guitarra), Michael Todd (bajo y voces secundarias) y Josh Eppard (batería). El nombre proviene de Coheed Kilgannon y Cambria Kilgannon, los protagonistas de The Amory Wars, saga de comics en los cuales se basan los discos de la banda. Con estos comics, la banda narra su historia y vivencias personales. Cada libro de cómic tiene su disco correspondiente, con el mismo título de la narración original. Los discos no siguen un orden cronológico de las series de cómics, ya que el último disco que saque Coheed and Cambria será la primera parte de la historia. El primer disco conceptual es The Second Stage Turbine Blade, segunda parte de los cómics The Amory Wars, lanzado en 2002 por Equal Vision Records. Durante un año la banda de Claudio Sánchez hace una importante gira por Estados Unidos y Europa, presentando su disco y logrando cosechar éxito entre los seguidores del panorama alternativo con singles como Devil in Jersey City. En 2003, la banda saca In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3, su segundo álbum de estudio y la tercera parte de The Amory Wars. El disco también fue distribuido por Equal Vision Records y la banda sigue haciendo giras, esta vez con bandas como The Used, AFI, Thrice o Thursday. El éxito de singles como A Favor House Atlantic o Blood Red Summer les vale para participar por primera vez en el Warped Tour, de 2004. Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV, Volume One: From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness sale a la luz en septiembre de 2005 y corresponde a la cuarta parte de las historietas Amory Wars. Es el primer disco que el grupo lanza con la gigante Columbia Records. El disco también logra una muy buena aceptación de sus seguidores y de la crítica, lo que supone a Coheed and Cambria su primera aparición en las prestigiosas listas americanas Billboard, en gran parte por su éxito conseguido con su sencillo The Suffering.
